KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Physical implementation of the Western Michigan University Wayfinding Project means the campus community will be welcomed to the fall semester with new street names, exterior signage and gateways, and new building addresses for many facilities on campus.

Phase I implementation of the project includes Main Campus gateways, street signs and vehicle directional signs. It is expected to be completed in mid-August. Phase II includes Main Campus pedestrian signs and building identification signs, as well as signage on East Campus and the Parkview Campus. That work will be completed at a later date.

A number of previously announced campus street name changes and the need to have physical addresses for all buildings have led to a long list of address changes. With new street signs in place, the use of the new addresses by emergency responders will become effective Aug. 18. The use of the new addresses for mail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service will be effective Aug. 26. The USPS will deliver mail to campus residence halls and apartments using the new addresses. All other buildings on the Main and East campuses will retain the 1903 W. Michigan Ave. address for mail services, but use physical addresses for non-USPS deliveries and helping visitors navigate using GPS. Due to a time-lag for incorporation into GPS mapping software, the new addresses may not be recognized for several months.

A complete printable list of the physical address for all campus buildings can be found at wmich.edu/businessandfinance/forms. Campus mail stop codes remain an important part of campus mailing addresses, and they can be found at the same site.

Residence Life and other WMU offices already have begun communicating the changes with those who plan to live campus this fall. For questions or concerns, contact Chris Pyzik in WMU's Facilities Management department at (269) 387-8543 or chris.pyzik@wmich.edu.
